Chelmsford Canoe Club

Is situated on the River Chelmer in the centre of Chelmsford.

Chelmsford Canoe Club is one of the oldest in England, established in 1946. It is affiliated to the British Canoe Union which is the national governing body for paddlesport. The club has received Sport England Club mark accreditation and BCU Top Club Gold status.

The club is a self help group run by the membership. Members are expected to volunteer and help out with the running of the club by assisting at working parties, keeping the premises clean & tidy, fund raising, participating or helping out at club events and activities.

Chelmsford Canoe Club covers most aspects of canoeing and has a strong racing team. Over the years Chelmsford has had a selection of members representing Great Britain at World Championship and Olympic level.
