The Chelmsford & District Group of Advanced Motorists, are a charitable organisation devoted to helping you increase your enjoyment and safety in driving.
The Group offers the 'Institute of Advanced Motorists', 'Skill for Life' package at £139.
This package includes Group Membership for a year (from the date of joining), the books, Pass Your Advanced Driving Test, The Highway Code and Know Your Traffic Signs AND the IAM Test fee and IAM Associate status, with an automatic upgrade to full Membership of the IAM upon passing the Advanced Driving Test within 12 months.
To prepare its Associate Members for the Advanced Driving test, the Chelmsford Group offers 'One-to-one' Drives. These are carried out with an Observer.
An Observer is someone who has passed the IAM Advanced Driving Test and then undergone training to enable them to help others to prepare for the Test. They will sit in and 'observe' the driving of Associate Members and will offer advice and guidance to assist those members to pass the Advanced Test. They will, from time to time, also do demonstration drives.
The Group organise Driver Experience Days. These days give you the opportunity to explore the capabilities of yourself and your car in a safer environment.
Participants are asked to make a donation to the Essex Air Ambulance.
The group also provide the opportunity for members to have a session on the
Essex Skid Pan.
The group also produce a Bi-Monthly Newsletter Forward Vision
